The Darnley Mausoleum in Cobham Wood, near Gravesend, was named Project of the Year at this year's Kent Design Awards, held at the River Centre in Tonbridge.

The Darnley Mausoleum in Cobham Wood, near Gravesend, was named Project of the Year at this years Kent Design Awards, held at the River Centre in Tonbridge. Canterbury architects Purcell Miller Tritton, and PAYE Stonework and Restoration of London, were applauded for bringing back to life the Grade I listed building. Architects Allison Brooks Associates won the public buildings category for Folkestones The Quarterhouse, a multi-purpose auditorium and cultural centre in the towns heart. KCCs ground-breaking Ashford shared space and Whitelaw Turkington, with its open road, special lighting and unusual design features, won the town and village renaissance category. Guy Holloway Architects won the category award for schools with the new St James the Great primary and nursery school at East Malling.
