Produced in Kents Taste of Kent Awards reached an exciting climax at Leeds Castle, as the countys most outstanding food and drink champions gathered to learn who had won Kents food and drink Oscars. With more than 10,000 votes received by the public up 89 per cent on last years voting expectations were high among the shortlisted 36 finalists as to who would walk off with the top 12 trophies. Julie Monkman, manager of Produced in Kent, said: Not only are these entrepreneurs growing, producing or working with local ingredients, but they are helping to revive and maintain traditional Kentish food and drink and centuries-old production methods, but with a razor-sharp, 21st-century cutting edge! See page 119 for more pictures and interviews with all 12 food and drink winners.
