A new gallery housing more than 700 objects that can be touched and studied by all visitors has opened at the Birchington-based museum.
The Powell-Cotton Museum has just launched a new and exciting, interactive gallery housing more than 700 objects that can be touched and studied by all visitors. Gallery 6 takes an innovative approach to museum practice and marks the start of a new phase at the museum, bringing the collection to life and introducing a more interactive experience to this historic setting. Since June 2013 the Powell-Cotton Museum in Birchington has been working on an ambitious project, led by project managers Keiko Higashi and Sarah Brown. Funded by Arts Council England, the gallery aims to increase access and awareness of this unique museum. Designed by Houghton Kneale Design, a Margate-based designer, Gallery 6 is a space to cultivate curiosity and also inspire future explorers.
