We have selected some of the most exciting music festivals happening this year in Kent
Camp Wildfire (17th – 19th June)
The unique Camp Wildfire is an adventure camp by day and a music festival by night. With traditional camp activities such as archery, orienteering and kayaking hosted in the daytimes, the forest is alive with music during the night. Winning Best New Festival in the 2015 AIF Awards, this secretive event is aimed at those adventure seekers who want something out of the ordinary.
Ramblin Man Fair (23rd – 24th July)
The classic rock festival Ramblin Man Fair is held in Mote Park in the countryside near Maidstone. With huge acts this year including Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy, Black Stone Cherry, Thunder and many more. With stages dedicated to blues, progressive rock and ‘outlaw country’, there is something for all the classic rock heads out there.
In the Woods (2nd – 3rd September)
2016 marks the 10th anniversary of In the Woods Festival, a breath of fresh air away from other commercially-focused festivals. With a focus on showcasing new and exciting talent, they also have lots of familiar names performing in the breathtaking secret forest location.
Create Festival (23rd July)
Taking place every year in Ashford’s Victoria Park, 2016 marks the 21st birthday of Create Festival, one of the biggest free festivals in the east. Last year’s acts included Adam Ant, Mark Morriss and Salvation Jayne and this year looks to feature some outstanding music once again.
A New Day Festival (5th – 7th August)
The classic rock festival A New Day is back again this year with an exciting line up of rock, blues, progressive and roots bands playing good music in Mount Ephraim Gardens in Faversham.
City Sound Project (30th April – 1st May)
City Sound Project festival takes place in Canterbury in 13 venues across the ancient city including historic chapels and towers. With an electric mix of events from electronic DJs, poetry, bands and much more, the streets of this old come alive. This year acts include Mystery Jets, Darius Syrossian, Mike Skinner (DJ) and more.
Innocent Unplugged (28th – 30th May)
With a focus on ‘unplugging’ and enjoying the moment, Innocent Unplugged festival located in stunning woodland in Kent has no wifi, no electricity and a focus on good food, connecting with people and bringing amazing music to festivalgoers. This year acts including DJ Yoda, Lazy Habits, Lucy Rose and more will be performing.
LeeFest (28th - 30th July)
Celebrating its ten year anniversary, LeeFest started as a garden party and has grown over the past ten years and now showcases some of the world’s best music of the moment.
Broadstairs Folk Week (5th – 12th August)
Broadstairs Folk Week is a showcase of wonderful and diverse folk music across the town of Broadstairs. Being spread across the town means that each person experiences Folk Week in a different and unique way as there are over 70 events per day including workshops, craft fairs, food and much more.
