The opening of Harvey's Fish Market & Oyster Bar on Ramsgate's Royal Harbour, with TV chef John Burton-Race, attracted guest from across the county and beyond.

Kent Inns of Distinction, headed up by Richard and Sherry Martin, whose portfolio also includes the Blazing Donkey in Sandwich, the Dog Inn at Wingham and most recently the Ivy House in Tonbridge, has hired Burton-Race, of the New Angel Michelin-starred restaurant in Dartmouth, as group development chef.

The privately owned Kent-based restaurant and hotel operator's ambitious cross-county expansion plans has involved the acquisition of two derelict sites, half a million pounds investment in refits and the creation of 30 new jobs, at least 15 of which are for Thanet.
