Eastwell Manor Country House Hotel & Spa, near Ashford, Kent will be hosting an extravagant All the Worlds a Stage themed Black Tie Ball on Friday 25th February 2011 in association with The Marlowe Theatre to help raise funds to enhance facilities and enjoyment for the disabled at the New Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury, which is due to open in October 2011.
Chairman of Eastwell Manor and of the Marlowe Ball Committee, Mr. Turrloo Parrett is sponsoring the event following the success of previous charitable events held at the hotel, including Black Tie Balls in aid of Demelza House, which raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for the childrens hospice. Mr. Parrett says It is a pleasure to be involved in this event and raise funds for such a worthy cause. I would like to encourage as many people as possible to attend this event and help to raise as much money as we can on the night, which is set to be a spectacular affair.
Actor and personality, Christopher Biggins will be providing the entertainment on the evening taking the role of Auctioneer for the main auction. One of the lots in the main auction includes a black and white pinstripe Paul Smith suit, previously worn to Film Premiers and other official occasions by Canterbury-born actor, Orlando Bloom, who has also starred in Hollywood blockbusters including Lord of the Rings and the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. The suit has been authenticated by his mother, Sonia Copeland Bloom.
Other lots being auctioned include a signed Cold Play Gold disc from their 2008 hit single Viva la Vida donated by the bands bassist, Guy Berryman, who received the disc when 300,000 copies of the single were sold in Japan. A villa in Florida for a weeks holiday for up to eight people, dinner for ten people cooked at your home by a chef from Eastwell Manor, Four Ball at London Golf Club plus lunch, a tour of Bell Harry at Canterbury Cathedral for up to ten people and many more lots will be available to for bids on the night. There will also be an Ultimate Raffle on the night with the opportunity to win a variety of exciting hampers.
The evening will start at 7.30pm with a Champagne Reception followed by a 3-course dinner and coffee with dancing until 1am to live music provided by The Clan, with Simon P Productions providing lighting, sound and a disco.
