More than 60,000 was raised for charity in memory of racer Henry Surtees at the Henry Surtees Headway Karting Challenge, held at Chathams Buckmore Park International Kart Circuit, where Henry spent much of his youth kart racing.

Celebrities from inside and outside the motor racing world joined family and friends of Henry in a celebration of his life, and in support of local charity Headway (Tunbridge Wells & District) to assist them in re-location and building a new centre. Henry was tragically killed in a freak motor racing accident at Brands Hatch in July 2009 and his father, motoring legend John Surtees, was the driving force behind the event, which featured 35 teams who raced in a two and half hour karting enduro event. Nearly 180 drivers took part in the race and each team donated a large sum to Headway.
