Would you like to design and build a new home in Kent?

There is an opportunity to build your own home in Kent as 14 individual plots are available in Faversham on the former Silver Sands garden centre site. One of the UK’s leading self build companies, Potton, has announced its latest project ‘Cherrywood’ which will transform the site on Staple Street, Faversham, into one of a handful of custom-build developments in the UK.

‘Cherrywood’ offers 14 individual plots available for sale on this site which has been sensitively and exquisitely designed to include beautiful landscaping offering an idyllic place to live. The site has full planning permission with all homes designed to meet the performance standard of Passivhaus; providing a high quality build with excellent energy-efficiency, meaning a comfortable indoor temperature all year round.

What is custom build?

Custom Build is relatively new to the UK is an ideal route for those looking to customise the design of their new home but in a more hands-off route than conventional self building as seen on popular primetime TV shows such as Grand Designs.

Why custom build?

Many people dream of building their own home but many are unable to find that all-important plot. Potton do the hard work by bringing serviced building plots to the market. The houses can be somewhat tailored to meet individual budgets, design requirements and specification. The route allows you to utilise Potton’s timber systems to provide efficiency of time and offers an opportunity to increase equity, lowering risk whilst enabling you to build your style of home. Because of the complexities of the Passivhaus design, the level of customisation of layout may be limited. However the custom builder will have full control of internal specifications, including kitchen and bathroom design.

The House Designs

There are 8 detached units and 6 link-detached units ranging in size from 3-5 bedrooms (1,534-2037 sq ft). Plot guide prices are from £230,000 but individual plot prices will be announced at the launch event in Faversham on 28th September.
