Must-have ‘stick of rock’ mugs are the work of Lydia Leith who draws inspiration from her love of traditional British culture and nostalgia: “The first stick of seaside rock was made in 1887 in Yorkshire by an ex-miner with Blackpool written through it. Now every seaside town has its own stick of rock, which has been part of the seaside experience for generations. My mugs are a celebration of the British seaside and a desire to make people smile,” she says.
The mugs come in a variety of seaside locations including Margate and are £10 each from www.lydialeith.com
