Clarkes of Maidstone

One of the county town’s best-known retailing names has just undergone a major refurbishment, which completes phase one of a three-phased project to totally rejuvenate the interior and exterior of the Sandling Road furniture store

The latest refurbishment of Clarkes of Maidstone includes new ceilings and up-to-date lighting technology, the installation of air conditioning, as well as new flooring and Farrow and Ball wall coverings. All the work has been undertaken by local independent companies.

Jonathan Watts, Clarkes’ managing director and also owner of Lenley’s, the leading Canterbury furniture store, said: “Since purchasing the business from the Clarke family, it has always been my intention to update the store to make shopping at Clarke’s a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for our customers.

“I am delighted with the outcome and I am looking forward to stages two and three next year.”

Clarkes has always been known as the bed expert and has added lots of new and exciting ranges to its quality portfolio. Vi-Spring, the UK’s premier bed manufacturer, is now on the showroom floor as well as a relative newcomer to the UK bed market, Velda, which manufactures electrical adjustable beds in many different sizes.

New bedsteads in both contemporary styles, like the chrome and glass Krystal model, or traditional styles such as the mahogany Normandic sleigh bed make for a wonderful choice.

Clarkes has recently welcomed a new staff member, Tony Talbot, who has joined the team as bed manager.

Tony has been selling beds in Maidstone for more than 25 years and is waiting to help you make the right decision that will result in the perfect night’s sleep.

So whatever your requirement might be, the Clarkes team is ready to inform and guide you through many different types of beds on offer.

That might be the traditional pocket-sprung sets from Hypnos, Harrisons and ViSpring, pressure-relieving mattresses from Tempur or great-value storage sets from Sealy. Be assured Clarkes will help you find the best bed for body, mind and pocket.

With its bedroom furniture area almost doubling in size, Clarkes also offers a comprehensive selection of wardrobe systems that are installed into the home direct from the suppliers, as well as a wide range of contemporary and classic bedrooms collections in both painted and timber finishes.

There is something for every taste and budget at the new look Clarkes, and while you are in the showroom don’t forget to enjoy a nice fresh cup of coffee …. on the company.
