Kent Life wins coveted Kent Magazine of the Year category, sponsored by Safer Kent, at the first Kent Press & Broadcast Awards

Editor Sarah Sturt (second from right) picked up the top award at the first event of its kind, organised by Tunbridge Wells-based Maxim PR, at an award ceremony hosted by Peter Sissons at The Spitfire Ground at St Lawrence in Canterbury.

The organisers commented: “We received 143 entries from more than 100 individuals for the first Kent Press & Broadcast Awards. Some categories had as many as 29 entries so the judges had a very difficult job selecting the finalists. The standard was high across the board, so all entrants should be congratulated.”

Highly commended in the same category was WOW magazine, founded by actress Emma Dewhurst in 2010 as Medway’s answer to Time Out.
