- Canterbury Festival 2019 (until 2 Nov)

Canterbury's celebration of the arts brings together a programme packed with global stars, emerging local talent and live performances. With venues including Canterbury Cathedral, The Marlowe, Kent College's newly built Great Hall and the touring Salon Perdu Spiegeltent, Canterbury's most ambitious festival invites audiences to be inspired and delighted.

- Folkestone Book Festival (until 24 Nov)

This year's Folkestone festival, 'The Shape of Things To Come', is curated by Liam Browne and Sean Doran and channels the spirit of author HG Wells, who lived and wrote in Folkestone. Includes Ben Okri, Caroline Lucas and Adrian Dunbar.
