Electronic efficiency

A new electronic local land charges service will speed up property transactions for home movers in Kent.

When a property is bought or sold, one of the processes that needs completing is a local land charges search from records held by the local council, and all the councils in Kent are connected to a national search service, enabling them to reduce the time it takes to process searches.

Home sellers will now benefit from a faster, more efficient local authority search because it will allow their agents to produce Home Information Packs much faster, meaning a property can me marketed as swiftly as possible.

Having an official local authority search in the HIP will also give home buyers the full picture about the property, and enable them to make a better, more informed decision.
