Approach Mead House through a five-bar gate up the gravelled drive, flanked by lawns on either side to reach ample turning room and parking at the front of the house.

Believed to date from the 1920s/1930s, it is an attractive, double-fronted home built of red and brown brick, set on the edge of the village of Speldhurst, near Royal Tunbridge Wells.

Inside, an entrance hall leads to a double-aspect drawing room with an open brick fireplace, and French doors to the side terrace. The dining room leads to a sizeable conservatory where the sunlight is moderated by both window and ceiling blinds.

The kitchen and breakfast room is fitted with a range of wall and base units with granite work surfaces, an inset butler sink with mixer taps and a four-oven gas Aga providing a focal point.

On the first floor the master bedroom features fitted wardrobes and an ensuite, while the family bathroom incorporates a panelled bath and fully tiled shower. This floor also has a further three bedrooms, all with fitted wardrobes, while above two more bedrooms give access to the attic and storage room.

The landscaped gardens give the property a lovely secluded setting

The landscaped gardens give the property a lovely secluded setting. A brick path leads to the front door, and another to a wooden gate, giving access to the courtyard at the side of the house. To the rear, a stone-paved terrace leads to lawns edged with mature shrub borders, including azaleas, potentilla and hydrangeas, while grass walkways take you on to the children’s play area.

Further lawns and walkways lead past the stone-paved side terrace and heated swimming pool to the orchard, hard tennis court and paddock. The gardens and grounds are well screened by clipped hedging and mature trees, offering a high degree of privacy.

For those with equine interests, the property also feature three loose boxes, a timber feed store and a store with access to the fully fenced paddock.
