Tom McEwen's Burghley video diary

The first instalment of competitor Tom McEwen's Burghley video diary.

The McEwen family is steeped in horses Toms mother Ali was a regular face on the showjumping circuit while his father Bobby is a senior partner at The Valley Equine Hospital in Lambourn. Toms sister Ella also events and rode for the British Pony Team in 2007 and 2008.


Tom was part of the British Young Rider team who brought home a sixth successive European Team Gold from the 2010 Young Rider European Championships and Tom finished 14th overall with Major Sweep. Previous to the Young Rider Europeans, Tom was part of the Gold Medal winning Pony Team in 2007 with his ride Dick Taytoe.


Tom will ride Dry Old Party, with whom he finished seventh in the U25 CCI*** at Bramham earlier this year.
