Tell us about yourself

My name is Anna Sharp. I'm 23, and I live in Ebbsfleet. I was born in Greenwich and lived in London before moving to Kent, where I went to Dartford grammar school. The school had a fantastic art department, and I then went on to study at the London College of Fashion before starting my own business, Pirate Verte jewellery.

What are you doing now?

I design and make an eclectic range of one-off, limited edition and bespoke jewellery based on trinkets, treasures, pearls and plunder inspired by my love of pirates, and my frequent visits to the shores of Whitstable to see family.

In addition, I designed and created my own website, and with the help of a small team have recently taken the jewellery to QVC shopping channel where I featured alongside my designs.

What are your ambitions for the future?

My ambitions are to continue to build the brand, and to one day open an amazing shop that will truly be a treasure trove of all my wondrous booty.

What’s the best thing about living in Kent?

Kent gives me a great central location making it easy to travel into London while also being within driving distance of fabulous beaches. Living in Ebbsfleet also means I have great connections with Paris using the new international rail station, which is great for a fashion business.

What are your hobbies and interests?

I have channelled many of my hobbies into my business, including my love for creating fashion illustrations. I also enjoy going to the gym and going to lovely restaurants.

What was the last book you read?

The last book I read was Things I wish my Mother had told me by Lucia Van der Post.
