Don’t waste a weekend when there’s so much going on in Kent. We hand pick what’s on across the county this weekend that we think you’ll love

1. Visit Ramsgate Festival

Ramsgate Festival, various locations (22nd to 30th July)

This year’s theme ‘Dream Marine’ has been inspired by the unique harbour and offers nine days of entertainment with a mix of arts, music, shows and more. Tickets: ramsgatefestival.org

2. See a lively stage musical

Mamma Mia!, The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury (11th to 29th July)

The world’s sunniest smash-hit musical tells the story of Sophie and her quest to find the father she’s never known through the timeless songs of ABBA. Book tickets online - but hurry! There are only a few remaining

3. Become a knight or a princess for the day!

Knights & Princesses School at Hever Castle, Hever, Edenbridge (22nd July to 28th August)

If your child has ever played knights or princesses, we’re sure they’re going to love this one. This is perfect for summer holidays: children are encouraged to dress up and see what life might have been like in medieval England in the stunning surrounds of the castle. Suitable for children aged around 6 to 12. Price for the events are included in an entry ticket

4. Get lost in a maize maze

Maize Maze, Penshurst Place, Tonbridge (15th July to 3rd September)

Throughout the summer holidays, Penshurst Palace is opening up its Maize Maze again that has proved so popular. The theme this year is art and literature and there is a chance to collect clues and riddles while trying to solve the maize. Children must be accompanied by an adult. 5. Indulge in a Shakespeare themed afternoon tea

Midsummer Night’s Dream Afternoon Tea, One Warwick Park Hotel, Tunbridge Wells (until 31st July)

Inspired by the play by William Shakespeare, One Warwick Park Hotel in Tunbridge Wells is offering an afternoon tea with the theme A Midsummer Night’s Dream. What a perfect way to spend summer’s afternoon. There will be a selection of sweet and savoury bites to enjoy alongside a pot of tea. £16 per person, to book call 01892 520 587 or email reservations@onewarwickpark.co.uk
