Headway in West Kent’s competition to find Kent’s ‘cutest pet’ on camera has been won by Gill Timms with this picture of her two-year-old black Labrador Dylan, taken on holiday in Dorset.

Gill, from Tunbridge Wells, has owned Dylan since he was 12 weeks old. She has always had dogs and her parents used to breed Labradors. Dylan is her fifth Labrador but her first black one, as all the others have been yellow.

Gill told Headway that winning the competition absolutely made her day and was a lovely surprise. She will use her prize, a voucher kindly donated by Pets at Home, to buy a new toy for Dylan, a dog who always finds life good fun and is enthusiastic and lively.

Kent Life photographer, Manu Palomeque, who judged the many entries, said: “This image of Dylan just stood out from the other excellent pet shots entered into the Headway in West Kent competition.

“The photographer managed to capture that ‘perfect moment,’ which is such a challenge, especially when photographing animals.”
