Shopping for gifts on the high street can be daunting so we have compiled a list of Kent’s Christmas markets to inspire you this festive season



Rochester Christmas Market

What could be more festive than a Christmas Market overlooked by the historic Rochester Castle? Take in the festive smells of roasted chestnuts and mulled wine as you explore the stalls of Rochester Christmas Market. There will be live music playing and a Bavarian village display to enjoy as you sip on your hot chocolate. Meet your favourite characters at the Rochester Dickens Festival on the 3rd and 4th of December for an exciting Victorian themed Christmas event. You will find gifts, craft fairs, and local producers selling seasonal fare to make your holiday season unique.

Faversham Christmas Market

Faversham marketplace is renowned for being the oldest in Kent, with visitors flooding to find local produce, antiques, homeware and much more. This year the Faversham Christmas Market is back in action with a plethora of festive goodies on offer. There will be plenty of gifts to browse through while you listen to Christmas carols and a brass band playing all overlooked by the iconic Guildhall.

Chartwell Christmas Market

If you are after a bit of history with your mulled wine then look no further than Chartwell, the home of Winston Churchill. This annual Christmas market offers plenty of gifts and stunning scenery on the grounds. Running in late November, it provides the perfect opportunity to get your Christmas shopping done early.

Leeds Castle Christmas Market

Keeping with the historical theme, Leeds Castle’s Christmas market is a must see. Held on Cedar Lawn overlooked by the castle, this market is a great option if you are bringing the kids along. With a fairground that includes a Victorian carousel and even a chance to meet some reindeer, keep the family happy while you check out the Christmas gifts, toys and decorations.

Tenterden Christmas Market

If you still need to brave the high street for little extras then why not head along to Tenterden Christmas Market? Held on the High Street, this festive fayre offers market stalls, delicious local food, carols, Christmas lights, street entertainment and even a Santa’s grotto. Enjoy all the ambiance of a traditional Christmas market while checking out the street entertainment. Previous years have been a huge success with thousands of people turning up to enjoy the festivities.

Twilight Christmas at Hever Castle

This year Hever Castle hosts a special festive event ‘Once Upon a Castle’ that celebrates the Christmas traditional pantomime. The castle will have decorations commemorating the history of these traditional British shows. The gardens will be lit up with twinkling lights so you can enjoy a leisurely stroll around the grounds brimming with celebration. There are nostalgic Victorian rides at the front of the castle with coconut shy, hall of mirrors and more. Enjoy a vintage Christmas at Hever!
