Rochester Christmas Market

Rochester Christmas Market is back for the fourth year running thanks to its previous popularity and success. The market is located in the castle gardens and offers a wide range of stalls, eateries and even a hog roast. Warm yourself with a hot chocolate whilst taking in the sweet smells of roasted chestnuts and mulled wine. Opening hours are 11am to 6pm on weekends between the 28th of November and 3rd of December. Faversham Christmas Market

Faversham’s historic market place is hosting a Christmas market offering an array of handmade toys and gifts, clothing, jewellery, pottery and crafts. There will be locally-sourced food and drink produce along with a variety of music. With Christmas carol singers and even a few donkeys there is something for all the family. The market takes place on the 29th of November and the 13th & 20th of December. www.favershammarket.org

Chartwell Christmas Market

If you are after a bit of history with your mulled wine then look no further than Chartwell, the home of Winston Churchill. This annual Christmas market offers plenty of gifts and stunning scenery. Running from the 27th to the 29th of November it provides the perfect opportunity to get your Christmas shopping done early. www.visitthanet.co.uk

Leeds Castle Christmas Market

Keeping with the historical theme, Leeds Castle’s Christmas market is a must see. Held on Cedar Lawn overlooking the castle itself this market is a great option if you are bringing along the kids. With a fairground and even a chance to meet some reindeer, keep the family happy whilst you check out the Christmas gifts, toys and decorations. Open on weekends from the 5th of December right up to the 23rd. www.leeds-castle.com

Tenterden Christmas Market

If you still need to brave the high street for little extras then why not head along to Tenterden Christmas market. Held in the High Street it offers market stalls, street food, carols, street entertainment and even a Santa’s grotto. Enjoy all the ambiance of a traditional Christmas market whilst checking out the ‘best dressed window’ competition set up by the Tenterden Chamber of Commerce. Previous years have been a huge success with thousands of people turning up to enjoy the festivities. This is a one day only event on Saturday the 5th of December from 10am to 8pm. www.tenterdentown.co.uk

Twilight Christmas at Hever Castle

Wrap up warm and enjoy seeing the castle like never before: transformed for the holiday season by twinkling lights, beautiful decorations and open log fires. Enjoy an evening walk through the grounds stopping off at Santa’s grotto and visiting the ‘husky hideout’ on the way. Catch a glimpse of the three wise men on their camels, whilst you sip mulled wine and tuck into a hog roast. This event is ticketed and runs on the 11th, 18th, 22nd and 23rd of November.
